JosĆ© Miguel B.C., the husband of the administrator of the El Campello company that imported the container where 13 tons of cocaine were seized – the largest cache in Spain – spent yesterday his first night in prison attenuated in a luxurious villa in El Campello. JosĆ© Miguel fled this villa, with privileged views of the sea, last October with his wife. The couple, according to the National Court, avoided arrest last October after allegedly being alerted by the former head of the UDEF in Madrid, imprisoned for his relationship with the drug trafficking network that organized the shipment of the 13,062 kilos of cocaine. The inspector was arrested with 20 million euros that he hid in his home, in his office and in a villa in DĆ©nia that he allegedly bought with money he received from the organization dismantled by the National Police.
The resident of El Campello investigated for the plot was in fact the manager of the company Abadix Fruits despite his wife being listed as the legal administrator of the fruit export and import company, according to the National Court. José Miguel was transferred late last Tuesday by the Civil Guard from Madrid after his appearance in the central court of Instruction number 1 of the National Court, whose head, despite the request for jail of the anti-drug prosecutor, agreed to the attenuated provisional detention at his home at the request of his defense lawyer. Francisco Miguel Galiana Botella, due to his delicate state of health and the danger to his life that would be posed by being admitted to a penitentiary, an allegation that was confirmed by the forensic doctor who examined him in the National Court.

JosĆ© Miguel B., 58 years old and a native of AlmoradĆ, suffers from chronic pancreatitis, COPD and kidney failure that forces him to receive dialysis three days a week. In fact, after turning himself in with his wife, Vilma Janet A.B., 51, at a police station in Madrid he received a dialysis session before going to court and this Wednesday afternoon he also left his home in El Campello for a few hours to undergo a new session at a hospital in Alicante.

According to the court order, JosƩ Miguel will only be able to leave three days a week to go to the hospital where he is receiving dialysis and he will also be able to be absent from home if he needs to go to a medical center as long as health care is justified.
Surprisingly for the Prosecutor’s Office, the magistrate of the central court of Instruction number 1 of the National Court also agreed to the provisional release with daily appearances of JosĆ© Miguel’s wife, also defended by the lawyer Francisco Miguel Galiana. Vilma Yanet, whose passport has been withdrawn by the judge and banned from leaving the country, must appear every day in court and this Wednesday she has already fulfilled this obligation for the first time.
