Northern Ireland’s Jonathan Alan S., accused of killing his compatriot John George Hardy with two shots a year ago in Rojales, has already been on provisional release since last Wednesday after having paid the bail of 100,000 euros agreed by the Torrevieja court investigating the case.
The Court of Instruction number 2 of Torrevieja issued an order on Wednesday granting the release after receiving the deposit of the bail of 100,000 euros in the judicial account. The release order was notified from the court to the Villena prison, where the alleged murderer of John George has been imprisoned since last April, and late on Wednesday afternoon he left the penitentiary.
It has not transpired whether Jonathan Alan S. was picked up at the prison by his wife or by some other family member or acquaintance. Jonathan’s wife, the British Madison V., 20 years old and an OnlyFans model, was arrested again by the Civil Guard in the early hours of last Tuesday in Orihuela Costa, this time for a crime of illegal possession of weapons. At the beginning of last September she was arrested by the Civil Guard of Torrevieja when she was driving with a friend in a car where a cache of almost a kilogram of “crystal” -methamphetamine- was seized. He spent a few days in pre-trial detention and was released on bail of 20,000 euros.
Second arrest
The new arrest was made when he was with three men and the Civil Guard found two pistols with ammunition in the car he was driving. One of the men fled and the Civil Guard arrested Madison, a 35-year-old Irishman and a 28-year-old Englishman. The three were brought to court on Wednesday morning in the duty court of Orihuela. The wife of John George’s alleged murderer was provisionally released after being assisted by lawyer Alicia Grau Córdoba.

The judicial decision to release Jonathan Alan S. was recently agreed by the Court of Instruction number 2 of Torrevieja after the request for release raised by the defense lawyers of the investigated, Francisco Miguel Galiana Botella and Alejandro Murcia. The Prosecutor’s Office and the private prosecution opposed the request for bail and the lawyer for John George’s family filed an appeal for reform that has not yet been resolved, which has not affected the execution of the magistrate’s decision.
The magistrate considered in her release order that, although there is sufficient evidence to maintain the accusation for an alleged crime of homicide against Jonathan, at this point in the proceedings pretrial detention is no longer essential to guarantee the “procedural availability” of the accused. The judge indicated in its author that the aims pursued with pretrial detention – mainly to avoid the risk of flight – can be ensured by means of precautionary measures “less burdensome for the right to liberty, through which the same ends can be achieved as with pretrial detention”.
In addition to the high bail of 100,000 euros to avoid prison, the defendant must appear daily in court and is prohibited from leaving the country without judicial authorization.
